Hi everyone! I’m Chris, Financial Coach and Founder, of Forerunner Financial.
I help my clients to create a positive money mindset and take control of their finances and investing through heart-centered financial coaching! My goal is to empower my clients to understand the financial world and take charge of their own situation in whatever way they are comfortable with.
My passion is teaching, I love sharing my experiences and knowledge with others and seeing them progress towards their goals with a new level of understanding.
Q. Tell us more about you! We’d love to know about your business today and the story of how you got there.
Well, my love for coaching started back when I was being coached as a high-level competitive athlete, in skiing, soccer, and volleyball. Then transitioned into me doing the coaching primarily in ski racing (which I am still involved with). I spent 8 years working in the construction industry, but over time realized that it was not where I was meant to be. Taking a year off to travel with my wife was one of my defining moments which started me on a new path both spiritually and practically. Looking back, doing our travels back in 2016 was the starting point of transitioning my career to something I was much more passionate and excited about, that eventually birthed Forerunner Financial in early 2020.
Q. Let’s dive more into the specifics of your business. What products/services do you offer? What do you do for your clients that sets you apart?
My primary offer is Financial Coaching related to the two main areas of Financial Wellness: Budgeting and Investing. I work with my clients on a monthly or biweekly basis to help them achieve their financial goals by teaching, encouraging, and holding them accountable. What also sets me apart is my transparency and authenticity, every service or product that I provide is something that I 100% believe in and is biblically tested. (ie. I don’t sell mutual funds because I would never buy them myself)
Q. What inspired or influenced you to create your business?
I was inspired to create my business by my own frustrations with the Financial Industry. Most financial advisors sell products that pay them a commission and are not necessarily in the best interests of the clients. I aim to counter this typical financial experience by educating and empowering my clients to make their own decisions and understand their finances for themselves.
Q. What are you most proud of in your work?
Taking the leap of faith to start this, I left a great secure career with good pay, because I was unhappy. It was the best decision of my life, besides saying “I do” to my amazing wife Michelle.
Q. What is one challenge you’ve overcome as a business owner, and what did you learn from it that you can share with others?
I’m doing me, in an industry that does not make it easy to be different. I don’t fit in the box of your typical financial advisor and it is a difficult road because of that.
Q. What is your favorite part of what you do?
Teaching, and seeing the aha moments that my clients have
Q. What is one thing you do to set yourself up for success every week?
Plan my week out in my journal then stick with daily journaling.
Q. What is the best piece of advice you have ever been given?
“Sometimes you gotta slow down so you can steer son”

A passion project of mine is to help others, not just business owners but anyone wanting to do or have more in this life, achieve their biggest dreams and goals. Over the past decade, I have developed some great goal-setting worksheets.
These worksheets will give you the tools you need to get a good start in the direction you want to go and how to get there. They will help you to feel less overwhelmed and give you some tools to use when you are feeling like you have a little too much on your mind.
